Romans 8:16-21

It is the Spirit himself bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God, ¹⁷ and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.

 

Matthew 22:36-40 NIV

Philippians 4: 11-13

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.

 

Isaiah 58 1-14

“Shout with the voice of a trumpet blast. Shout aloud! Don’t be timid. Tell my people Israel^[a] of their sins!

²     Yet they act so pious! They come to the Temple every day and seem delighted to learn all about me.
They act like a righteous nation that would never abandon the laws of its God. They ask me to take action on their behalf,
pretending they want to be near me.
