Upon freedom from slavery, Betsey took advantage of educational opportunities to better herself. Being a freed African American woman, she demonstrated exceptional faith in starting the first schools abroad to teach children, and at the same time sharing her faith. How will you use the education that you have received to reach our children? Ask the Holy Spirit to direct you to help children and youth experience Jesus Christ.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for salvation in the saving power through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Empower us through the Holy Spirit to reach and teach children of your saving grace. In Jesus name, amen.
