Dear Church Family,

New Psalmist is such a great church. We have been here for 113 years, with only three Pastors. That alone is a testament to what a great people we are. Throughout our history we have overcome huge obstacles, and shared in many victories. The people of New Psalmist have always come together to accomplish God’s will for this church. We have paid off two mortgages, regrouped and rebuilt after a building fire, and we have even been blessed to build two sanctuaries to the Glory of God.

Now it is time for us to continue to build upon the legacy of this great church. I am excited to share the vision God has given me with you. We have been tremendously blessed with The Holy City of Zion. During the building process, God blew our minds and stretched us in ways we didn’t know were possible. We have been in our current building for two years, and now God is calling us to Take Charge, and he is assuring us that “We Got This”.

Taking Charge is a three-fold campaign focused on Paying down the mortgage of the building, saving and preparing for a future, which is a family life cultural center, and tackling a major missions effort in our educational system. God has shown us that He will grow us through the projects we tackle in his name. This is a part of the vision He gave us in the winning and it is time for us to work on it. We want to make life better for someone else and we have the resources to do it. We can tackle big projects and change the quality of life for others.

We have seen what God can do and will do and now we have to let our faith undergird our dreams. We have to move forward and Take Charge of our time, our opportunities, and our finances and in doing so let God hear our faith has grown to wear we say, We Got This!!

What is the goal of Taking Charge: We Got This?

The goal of this campaign is three-fold:

To pay down the mortgage of our current building

To put us in a position to begin building for our future Family Life/Cultural Arts Center

To help free up resources to do a major mission work in our schools.

How is this different from Stretch?

Stretch was a three year commitment; this is a two year commitment. Stretch helped us build this building, while building our faith at the same time. Taking Charge will catapult us into our future.

Why are we beginning a new campaign now?

Now is the time to prepare. We have gotten accustomed to what this new building has to offer. We are now in a good position to begin preparing and planning for our future.

When will the campaign begin?

On March 17, 2013 we each bring our commitment and a generous First Fruits offering

What are the different ways I can contribute to this campaign?

You can contribute on Sunday mornings along with your regular tithes and offerings, electronically through our website, www.newpsalmist.org, by making deduction arrangements with our business office, or through stocks, and bonds, and other charitable giving. Please refer to the commitment card for ways to give that best suit you and your family.

What can I expect from participating in the Taking Charge Campaign?

We desire for everyone to grow in faith and intimacy with God as we yield our finances to Him. Let us know how God works in your life through this adventure. In addition, we expect to see greater fruit for God as we expand the ministries of New Psalmist.

Why should I contribute/participate in the Taking Charge campaign?

We are doing this as a church family where everyone does his/her part. God is going to honor our giving as a church and as individuals.

How much should a person commit to the Taking Charge Campaign?

We encourage everyone to spend time with God in prayer and study before deciding how God is calling you to commit to this campaign.God blesses as we sacrificially commit to Him
